- Opening/Closing Soft Stop - Opening/Closing Soft Stop is a feature in which the control board, during the easy set up process, learns where your opening and closing points are for the swing of the gate. Then during normal operation the gate operator automatically slows the motion of the gate to smoothly meet with the gate's destination point.
- Large 24V Motor - The motor of the E-SC 1602 is one of the largest found on any residential gate opener. It is well equipped to handle gates up to 800 lbs, more weight than found in many heavily ornamented gates.

The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 is a revolutionary opener that is set to make column mounting a breeze. It has amazing features that can’t be found on any other opener on the market.
The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 dual gate opener is designed for gates from 16 feet in length or 800 lbs. The unit attaches to the gate via an articulating arm that reaches back behind the corner of the column, making it possible for setbacks that are not available to most linear operators. A concern with older model articulating arms were pinch points, Estate Swing has now eliminated these. The articulating arm has curved pivot point connections, making it safer to have around families. The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 utilizes a smart control board to run the commands mechanical parts of other systems run.
Opening/Closing Soft Stop is a new feature in gate openers. This means that the gate opener remembers the limits of the opening and closing cycles, and slows the momentum of the gate to gently reach its stopping point.
The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 also features one touch easy programming, cutting your installation set up time in half. Once the gate opener is mounted and your variables are set, to learn how far your gate opens and closes, all you have to do is press one button and that’s it. The E-SC 1602 can also be used without positive stops. It can be used with point-positive limit switches for easy stopping points when positive stops, or physical stopping points, are not desired.
Safety is always a top concern with FAAC. They have designed their system to be the safest in the world. We at GateCrafters.com always recommend having external safety devices such as photo sensors installed on your opener to prevent damage or injury. The Estate Swing E-SC 1602, first, has an auto-reverse feature built in. Even if you do not decide to install any external safety devices, the Estate Swing E-SC 1602 will automatically reverse directions if it comes in contact with an obstruction. The top safety feature is how safety devices are wired on the Estate Swing E-SC 1602. Other gate openers have a flawed system; they are hooked up on a normally open circuit, which means if your safety device is not functioning properly it will not stop the movement of your gate. This can lead to disastrous results. The Estate Swing E-SC 1602 works on normally closed connections for safety devices. In most cases, if the safety device is not functioning properly, the normally closed connection will be open, the same as when there is a breach of the safety device, and the gate will not move.
As if all the previously mentioned features aren't impressive enough, the Estate Swing E-SC 1602 also has a state of the art diagnostic system. After set up you can check out your diagnostics lights to be sure accessories are connected correctly. The lights quickly tell you if a connection is made or not made in the accessory terminals. This will save all users time from having to guess what is preventing proper operation and prevent users from testing and reconnecting terminals that were connected properly to begin with.

As part of one of GateCrafters.com's constant quality checks and knowledge updates. I personally go to Italy annually to visit the factories in which Estate Swing products are made. One of my goals is to see what exactly is being done to meet the high standards of the ISO 9000 ratings. What I have found is every part that is assembled is put through a computer-guided test. Some tests for example are to be sure the electrical side of the part has the correct amount of resistance; another to test the motion vibrations of moving parts, a third is the overall longevity of the part. The computer then rejects or accepts the part. Another test done at the factory is running samples of the openers at 50% duty cycle for the entire life of the warranty at its rated capacities to ensure reliability.

This battery kit is solely designed for back-up use. In the above listed Estate Swing systems, the gate openers run entirely off of the transformer input. When that input is absent then the gate opener switches over to the battery backup for approximately 6 to 10 cycles. The incoming power charges the batteries between cycles. The two batteries in this kit must be used in series.

Surge suppression is the single largest regret for gate opener customers who have a board destroyed by some seemingly insignificant power surge. Nothing can stop a direct lightning strike but small surges happen all the time. The two largest sources are residual energy from lightning nearby and power overages when the power company restores power after an outage.
This surge suppressor interrupts those surges right before they reach the control board. The surge suppressor has the capabilities for the following:

Controlled Open/Close
You can open and close your gate at a particular time with the gate timer via a programming sequence which allows you to open at a preset time and close at a preset time. The timer
allows for this to be either: weekday only, 7-days a week, single day or a combination of the three.
Inactive Accessories Function
You can make accessories like automatic entry or exit through loop or auto-sensor inactive during “off” hours. For example during evening hours some users wish to have automatic
access off to create a more secure environment. With the Universal Digital Gate Timer you can achieve this secure "off" hours setting.
Manager Opening / Auto-Reclose
This setting allows a manager to open the gate at a particular time with the gate remaining open until a preset auto-close time. Have the gate open only after an authorized individual has
activated the gate but subsequently after close at a particular time. This function works great for commercial establishments like lumber yards or car lot.
Complete Gate Lockout Times
Use this function of the timer to make the gate opener access completely disabled during off hours without shutting down the system and possibly losing programming. During evening
hours some users wish to have all access off limits through a particular gate, such as an auxiliary gate. It has built-in security because it programs the gate to not reopen at a certain period
of time but still close if already opened.

The Estate Swing Cell Phone Access Receiver is the ultimate in versatility and convenience for remote opening of any gate opener. This receiver totally eliminates the necessity of
purchasing or carrying extra remotes because it provides access to the gate opener through an item most people already carry - a cell phone. Simply dial the receiver number and, through
caller ID, the receiver will recognize the programmed number(s) and open the gate. This is more secure than traditional remotes because the number has to be programmed into the
receiver to operate it, so there is less of a chance that unauthorized persons will be able to operate the gate.
It's convenient for small apartment complex managers and their residents, since the residents' numbers can be programmed into the receiver so the manager doesn't need to purchase and
hand out extra remotes. Similarly, because so many numbers can be programmed into the receiver, each member of the family, plus friends, extended family, and others, can operate the
receiver easily and conveniently.
It works this way. Purchase a GSM SIM card (AT&T or T-Mobile) and a cell number. Customers can purchase pay-as-you-go cell numbers (disposable phones for example) or add
another line to the current cellular plan. The intercom will then receive commands from authorized users via cell signal. No minutes are used as it doesn't actually answer the calls - it utilizes
caller ID to allow access.

The Estate Swing automatic free exit vehicle detecting exit wand makes leaving your property a breeze. Any car driving towards the gate will be detected and automatically open the gate for the leaving party. Easy to install, it gets buried directly in the ground next to the driveway, not under it, so there is no saw cutting or paving to do. As metal moves past the sensor the gate opener is triggered to open.
The exit wand comes with 4 optional lengths of wire pre-attached, which cannot be lengthened. It is highly recommended to position the exit wand as far back from the gate as your property can allow, this will give more time for the gate to open and less of a chance the car exiting will move into the path of the gate. Also cars need to be moving to trigger the wand, so further back the cars will not be slowing or stopping yet to wait for the gate.
Note: Exit wands / sensors should not be used on properties in which the driveway gate is designed to keep in pets, children or live stock due to possibility for unintentional openings. Our suggestion is to use a keypad for exiting so the gate will only open when it is intended to by code.

The Gate Crafters sensor is a multipurpose exit sensor and vehicle detector that allows hands free access; and, because of its simple design, it is compatible with most gate openers including the Estate Swing, Apollo, Zareba, and many others. The single piece design provides the installer with simple installation procedure. The Gate Crafters Exit Sensor is buried in the ground so a potential intruder or vandals do not notice it. The Gate Crafters has wide range power supply options from 9V to 35V AC or DC. Low current consumption makes it an excellent choice for solar power applications.
The Gate Crafters sensor uses passive probe sensor to detect changes in the earth's magnetic field. These changes are caused by a movement of ferrous metal objects such as a car in the proximity of the probe. The sensing area of each probe is in the shape of about 15-foot circle. The size of this detection circle changes with the size and speed of the moving car. The Gate Crafters sensor can be buried in the ground about 6 inches deep parallel to the paved driveway. It also can be placed 2 inches deep in asphalt or concrete under the path of the vehicle.
Note: Exit wands / sensors should not be used on properties in which the driveway gate is designed to keep in pets, children or live stock due to possibility for unintentional openings. Our suggestion is to use a keypad for exiting so the gate will only open when it is intended to by code.

Use this formula to calculate how far from the gate the loops should be place so that by the time a car reaches the gate, the gate will be completely open:
Exit Loop formula: x*(y*1.46)=z
x = time for gate to open in seconds.
y = Desired MPH to reach gate.
z = how far from gate.
FYI - 1.46 converts miles per hour to feet per second. We also recommend adding in 10 to 20 feet so the gate is fully open at comfortable distance
from the
gate.
For placement of a safety loop before and after the gate use the formula below. A safety loop is designed to stop the motion of the gate before the
car reaches
the gate. The distance below should give an ample amount of time for the gate to stop before hitting a vehicle:
Safety Formula: 4 feet before a closed gate and after an opened gate.

The FT25B Wireless Photo Cell provides added safety to an automatic gate opener. Obstructions are sensed between the transmitter and receiver protecting loved ones and cars from seriuos injury.
The FT25B's transmitter and receiver is more reliable than reflective photo eyes and because it is wireless it is just as easy to install. The FT25B only needs to have the receiver wired into the control board (no need to runs wires across the driveway).

The Diablo Controls Safety Loop Detector (DSP-6LP) has been specifically designed for solar powered gate applications. This detector will operate on any voltage from 10 to 30 volts AC or DC and draws less than 2 milliamperes while waiting for a car. The power LED blinks continuously once per second to indicate the detector is operating in the low power and fail secure mode.

The Estate Swing EASY-KA (Easy Keyed Access) Stainless Steel Keypad is a great gate accessory for those owners who want to have secured yet stylish gate access. The keypad is housed in an aluminum cast with a high-grade stainless steel finish to accentuate the style already attributed with Estate Swing Gate Openers. Its weight compared to others will convince you of this quality craftsmanship that will lead to many years of flawless operation.
Another great feature of this keypad is the different security levels and modes. Depending on what mode you set the keypad in, you can set up users to have different access grants. For example, a Normal user will not be able to enter during secure mode, while a master user and secure user can. But a secure user must have a primary and secondary code to get in. This level of security is new to a keypad of this price range. On the same security note, the back of the keypad is equipped with a tamper proof sensor. If someone was to remove the keypad from its post the sensor would be tripped and lock out the intruder. The Party mode feature allows for the keypad to hold a gate open using a separate code when multiple guests are expected.
Some other unique features are 12 or 24V operation, which allows it to be used with many different operators and a secure push button hookup; most push buttons wired to locks or gate openers don't have any options for altering how they operate, they simply close a connection. If you hook the push button up through this keypad, it will still work to open you gate but you also have some control about how and when the push button will function.
The Estate Swing EASY-KA can also be made to be time secure. Have your keypad active or inactive at the times of your choice without interruption of programming or power when used in conjuction with the 12V Digital timer (for 12V systems) or the 24V Digital timer (for 24V systems).

Lastly this keypad has a built in heater, a feature not found very often (but possibly should be). The heater can be turned on and off and has relatively low energy consumption so it's still fine to run off most gate opener batteries or power outputs. It will allow your keypad to work without the risk of icing up when temperatures drop into the negatives.

Add additional security and protect your gate from being forced open with the GateCrafters Automatic Gate Lock. Easy wiring and bolt on design makes installation a snap. This device is designed for Pull-to-Open and Push to open Dual gate installations. This is a 12V - 24V DC solenoid lock. When 12V - 24V DC are applied to the lock the solenoid will pull back and release the lock. Once power has stopped being applied the latch is reset by spring. When it is closed it does not require power to stay locked, making it a fail secure device. In the event of power outage or malfunction the lock can be released by key. The momentum of the gate closing will push the lock latch against the receiving pin, push the latch back on the spring and then the latch will relock around the receiving pin to hold the gate closed.
Other gate locks required up to 10 pounds of force for a gate to lock. This force was generated from a gate closing quickly and banging shut. However, recent trends in automatic gate openers have resulted in gates slowing down as they are about to close. Without the speed generated from the gate banging shut, the gate does not have enough force to trigger the lock, leaving your gate vulnerable to wind and forced entry.
The Estate Swing lock solved this issue by using a pivoting system for locking shut. Allowing the latching action to require less than 1 lb of force. Noting this revolutionary feature, we at GateCrafters.com offer the GateCrafters.com OEM Automatic Gate Lock based on that design.
When it comes to functionality, the GateCrafters lock is the same as the Estate Swing lock. What separates the two is the GateCrafters.com OEM lock has a galvanized zinc coating and is left unpainted - the Estate Swing lock is powder coated black. The Estate Swing Unlimited Range Wireless Cellular GSM Intercom is the ultimate in versatility and convenience for remote operation of any gate opener. The range of this receiver is truly unlimited, so long as there is a cell tower available to receive and transmit the call. This is particularly beneficial in areas that have a great deal of interference for traditional radio transmitters and receivers, or for users who wish to open the gate from extended distances (such as from a home, cell phone, or even another state!). Additionally, since it's a wireless communication system, it is needless to run to a phone line or wires to the house. The process of running wires can be time-consuming, complicated and expensive. The Estate Swing Cell Phone Access Receiver allows the user to avoid all that while providing a simple, secure, and convenient means of operating the gate opener.
It works this way. Purchase a GSM SIM card* (AT&T or T-Mobile) and a cell number. Customers can purchase pay-as-you-go cell numbers (disposable phones for example) or add another line to the current cellular plan. The intercom will then receive commands from authorized users via cell signal and also place outgoing intercom calls to the administrators through cell signals. The intercom system rarely uses the cell service. The only time minutes are used is when a guest is at the gate talking to a person to let them in; the other features don't actually answer the calls - they utilize caller ID to allow access.
This intercom totally eliminates the necessity of purchasing or carrying extra remotes because it provides access to the gate opener through an item most people already carry - a cell phone. Simply dial the intercom number and, through caller ID, the intercom will recognize the programmed number(s) and open the gate. This is more secure than traditional remotes because the number has to be programmed into the receiver to operate it, so there is less of a chance that unauthorized persons will be able to operate the gate. Additional security can be provided by the password protected mode; when the intercom picks up the call, the user must enter the programmed password.
It's convenient for homeowners because each member of the family, plus friends, extended family, and others, can operate the receiver easily and conveniently. Similarly, the intercom function permits homeowners to allow entry for personnel requiring access to the property, even when the homeowner is not home. When the intercom button is pressed, the intercom dials one of three programmed administrator numbers; if the first attempt is unsuccessful, it will try each of the other administrator numbers. When the call is received, the administrator can talk to the person at the gate and press a few keys to allow entry to the property. This is an excellent feature for deliveries since the homeowner can allow entry even when s/he is not home.
This accessory also has a number of convenient functions for ease of operation and enhanced reliability. The intercom runs off a battery backup in the case of a power failure, and it has an alarm to indicate when the battery has been engaged due to power failure. Moreover, users can program the intercom to text administrator numbers for updates, including power failures. Users can program extended delay opening/closing functions for larger vehicles (such as those with trailers), as well as a party mode. The party mode engages the gate in an open position until an administrator sends a text to close the gate. All programming can be done by phone and text message for the most convenient operation possible.
Using the Estate Swing GSM Intercom with Solar Applications
The GSM Intercom has a broad range of compatibility with gate openers and garage door openers. In some instances, you may be interested in using the GSM intercom with a solar powered system. There are specific power requirements needed to obtain optimal quality of use when combining the GSM Intercom and solar applications.
Most importantly, when using the Estate Swing GSM Intercom along with a solar gate opener, the installer should have a minimum of a 20W panel and a deep cycle marine battery.
Always disconnect the GSM backup battery if using the intercom with a solar system. With the back up battery attached to the system the draw is 300 milliamps. Without the back up battery it is only 130 milliamps. Also, make sure you take the display off after finishing programming – this eats about 40 milliamps.
What does this mean to you? On good winter day, in a strong solar zone, the 20W panel will put about 9.6 Amps into the battery but the GSM will pull over a 24 hour period 3.5 amp. This doesn’t leave much room for cloudy days so the deep cycle battery is imperative.

Unlimited Range: The Estate Swing GSM intercom comes with a reception box that a guest can call the resident from. The call button on the box, when pressed, directs the system to dial the phone number of first administrator. If there is no answer the system will proceed to call the second and then third administrator numbers (if second and/or third administrators exist). This call is completely wireless through a cellular signal, no wires are needed to an existing phone line or house.

- When entering the gate, if you wish to hold the gate open longer than its normal pause time, for long trailers or trucks for example, you text a 1 time longer delay and after the one opening it will go back to normal operation automatically.
- If you want to leave the gate open, you can enter party mode and text the gate to stay open until it is texted again to close it.
Programmable Caller ID: No more remotes needed - The intercom permits access through caller ID; up to 1000 different numbers can be programmed into the intercom's caller ID. Users simply call the intercom's number (determined by the SIM card; not included) and it opens upon recognition of the number. In automatic mode, the intercom does not pick up the call, so no minutes are used. One method is that users purchase a go-phone or track phone with a SIM card so the SIM card has a number attached to it; users may also add an extra line to their current cell phone service and use a SIM card for the extra line.
Programmable Password Mode: The intercom can be programmed to require callers to enter a password before it will engage the gate to open; after three attempts, it will terminate the call.
Special Opening Modes: Administrators can program the gate with an extended delayed opening, or they can engage a party mode that leaves the gate open until a text message is sent to close the gate.
Visual Diagnostic Screen Plug-in: The Estate Swing GSM intercom comes with a diagnostic screen you can plug into the control board to see battery charge, signal strength and see visual confirmations of programming being performed.
Battery Backup: The Estate Swing GSM intercom comes with a built in battery backup. In the event of a loss of incoming power the system will automatically switch to battery backup. This housing can take hits from both Mother Nature and vandals and maintain its functional integrity and good looks. "The Carin video intercom is the epitome of reliability and simplicity. It functions with such intuitiveness that anyone, even the technically inept, can operate it. Wondering what might be going on outside, push the view button and up pops an image, day or night, of what is out there. Satisfied with what is out there, walk away, it will shut off in 60 seconds. If someone rings in through anything, the intercom, your doorbell, knocking, whatever; just pick up the handset, the picture pops up and you can have a two way conversation with your guest. They don't have to do a thing, just start talking... no confusing instructions for them to push a button, no crazy back and forth of having to press to speak/let go to hear, etc. If you choose to you can also set up an electric lock and then just click the release button and your door is free to open.
The low light LEDs work great on this unit. You don't even need to flip the porch light on, the street lights combined with the low light LEDs are enough. This is a great thing because at night you don't need to let the visitor (possible intruder) know you are home or even looking at them. You could be calling the cops while they are still wondering if you heard their knock.
The standard outdoor camera/intercom can't be mounted in a position where it will be rained on, this doesn't however mean it needs to be encased in plastic or anything; an overhang long enough to block angled rain and direct sunlight is enough. If you don't have that option, no problem, the option you see up top is a weatherproof, flush mount outdoor station.
The wiring is easy too. First off, if you are going through a door, video system on one side and camera on other (the included bracket that holds the video/handset is extremely secure to make this possible) like a peephole is then all you have to do is drill a hole and clip the two units wire sets together. The clips are already attached, how easy is that? Let's say you want to mount in on your wall instead. All the colors on both units are the same, just match blue to blue, black to black, etc. You can use CAT3 wire, which they sell for next to nothing at the big hardware stores. The wire is real thin, you can use a 3/16th bit to drill a hole in your wall to feed this wire though and just back fill it with some weather proof caulk to prevent bugs from trying to come in (soldering .and heat shrinking the wire makes the best connection - instructions for doing so are included in the manual).
